The nomination Court Sittings set for today 23rd of February 2024 have kicked off as from 10:00am when the nomination courts opened and will close at 16:00 hours.
The nomination courts opened are for Kusile Rural District Council Ward 13 and Red cliff Municipality Ward 3 who are receiving the nomination papers.
According to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), the local authority nomination requirements are as follows:
“The prospective candidate should:
1 – Be 21 years of age or older
2 – Be a citizen of Zimbabwe
3 – Be a registered voter and registered within the Ward they want to Contest in
4 – Be nominated by 5 nominators registered in the Ward to be contested.
Zec also indicated that there is no nomination fees required.Therefore the Commission encouraged all prospective candidates to launch their nomination papers within the specified timeframe.
ZEC also released nomination court venues for Kusile Rural District Council Ward 13 which are offices of the Chief Executive Officer , Kusile Rural District Council , Lupane and for Redcliff Municipality ward 3, it will be at the offices of the Town Clerk, Municipality of Red cliff at the Civil Sally Mugabe Way, Redcliff.
