Mnangagwa Opens Governors, Ministers Vic Falls Conference

Zimbabwe President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has officially opened the 56th Session of the Economic Commission for Africa Conference of African Apex Bank Governor’s and Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in the resort town of Victoria Falls.

This much awaited Conference is one of the vital forums on the continent for dialogue and exchange of views among African governors of central banks on issues pertinent to the development agenda of Africa as well as engaging ministers responsible for finance, planning and economic development.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr John Panonetsa Mangudya and Professor Mthuli Ncube, the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion briefed TechnoMag exclusively stating that they were, “looking forward to the (President’s) speech and delegates will be pleased that he will be in our midst and express his views as the leader of the country and an important leader in Africa passionate about food security, which is a critical issue in greening Africa’s economies.”

Mnangagwa arrived in the resort town of Victoria Falls for the African Bank Governor’s and ministers’ conference a while ago today to officially open the 56th session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Conference of African Central Bank Governor’s Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

The conference is running under the theme, “Financing the transition to inclusive green economies in Africa: Imperatives, opportunities, and policy options”.
