In an unprecedented development, Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group (BCS) has installed a fast internet fiber optic cable over railway line along Vicfalls to Beitbridge and Midlands, which is now active, carrying wholesale bandwidth market in Zimbabwe.

The official commissioning of this fibre link  is set for the 7th of March in Somabula, Midlands  by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.Fiber optic ploughed along railway link

The 1000km link is a first to be dug  along our railway lines, using already existing lanes to plough the high capacity fiber cable connecting across the country, and main tourism sites and last mile gateway.

Clients like Dark Fibre Africa, Dandemutande and TelOne are already using this link as their main backhaul or backup link for connectivity!

This becomes the 3rd biggest local fibre link in Zimbabwe after Liquid Telecom and  TelOne.  Dandemutande  and Powertel are the other big players in fibre optic market.

BCS Group is a Pan-African telecom infrastructure company that operates across the African continent and specializes in delivering fiber connectivity solutions to wholesale customers.

Their network coverage spans over 80,000km+ of backbone and metro fiber, encompassing 17 countries in Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa, which allows us to reach an estimated 80million+ end users.

They offer a range of services, including Fiber Construction, Carrier Grade IP Transit, Global and Regional Connectivity, Colocation Services, and Open Access FTTX on EPC, Co-Build, Own Build and Managed Capacity models.
