Zimbabwe has  joined the rest of the World today in commemorating the International Girls in ICT Day. Running under the theme ‘Digital Skills For Life’ the event aims to inspire a global movement to increase the representation of girls and women in the use of ICTs.
The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ) Director General, Gift Machengete has been elected Vice President of the Council of African Regulators.  Dr Machengete was nominated and endorsed on consensus for the post at the ongoing pre-sessions of the Transform Africa Summit in Victoria Falls. He will deputise Mr Lin Bombo who is the president of Gabon’s Regulator ACEP.
NetOne has partnered electric car manufacturer BYD in establishing electric car charging ports at their base stations countrywide. NetOne General Manager   Mr Masunda said  electric car users will incur a cost of USD0.30 for a charge which can be paid via the OneMoney platform. According to NetOne, more electric charging platforms will be established in urban residential areas.
