The country’s premier business expo ,the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair has been postponed yet again
The ZITF board chairman Busisa Moyo in a statement said that the postponement was approved by the government as well as relevant stakeholders and was necessitated by the need to adhere to the Level 4 lockdown so as to ensure that buyers and exhibitors from outside do not flout these restrictions.
“With the continued ban on intercity travel,it has been difficult for out-of-town exhibitors to effectively plan their participation and bring in their exhibits, particularly for those without Bulawayo offices.”
“Consequently, postponing the trade show to September provides exhibitors with more time to adequately prepare for their participation without contravening national lock down regulations,”Moyo said
The 2021 edition of the trade fair was scheduled to run from 23 August to 25 August will now run from 21-23 September .
The ZITF Company, working closely with the Government and key stakeholders, agreed to host the expo under strict adherence to World Health Organisation (WHO) standard mitigation protocols.
This year ,the ZITF made it mandatory for all participants who will be at ZITF throughout the duration of the show, that is exhibitors, contractors, suppliers and vendors to be fully vaccinated and to produce a Covid-19 free certificate (PCR test) taken no later than 48 hours before the show begins
