Zim's Peace and Security Influence the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty

Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO) which outlaws nuclear test explosions around the world held a national seminar to shed more light on the Nuclear-Test-Ban yesterday in Harare.

Speaking at the conference, CTBTO Executive Secretary Dr Lassina Zerbo and his delegation expressed how they would want Zimbabwe to remain and be part of this expertise and admired how the peace and security of Zimbabwe has impacted CTBTO.

“At the CTBTO, we have also benefited from Zimbabwe’s commitment to peace and security through the support of the Permanent Mission. We are also able to discover strong cooperation ties, which we hope to further strengthen with Zimbabwe’s ratification, focusing on two main areas peace and security on the one hand, and development on the other.” said Dr Zerbo.

Zimbabwe is one of the first countries to sign and ratify the Pelindaba Treaty, which confirms its commitment for peace and security and sends a vital message to the international front especially to those who are yet to ratify the treaty.

Present at the Seminar also was Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Sibusiso Moyo.

On Wednesday the CTBTO also me up with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty, which outlaws nuclear test explosions.
