Zimbabwe’s leading postal and communication service provider, Zimpost has been awarded a bureau de change license alongside 44 other institutions.
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and the government are trying to curb illegal forex dealings which are being done mostly on the streets of many towns and cities nationwide. However, with the issues of willing buyers and unwilling sellers with most of the bureaux de change, a large portion of the population is still going to the streets to change their foreign currency.
Among the 45 licensed bureau de change operators are Ecocash, Cbz, Homelink, ZB , Empower bank, Picktalk Investments and African Century Limited.
Zimposts’s operator license covers more than 10 of the Zimpost branches including Harare Main Post Office. One can go and sell their foreign currency in Mrewa, Mutare, Gwanda , Beitbridge, Tsholotsho among other cities and towns.
