Zimbabweans paying their DStv subscriptions in South Africa and South Africans have been smitten with the 30 percent increase of monthly subscription fees with effect from April 1, 2017.
Many Zimbabweans shunned DStv Zimbabwe opting to subscribe to the DStv South Africa citing that it offered more channels compared to those in Zimbabwe.

In a statement released yesterday, DStv said they had been trying to lower the fees down.
“We’ve completed our business planning and have done our best to keep your subscription fees down, despite the tough economic climate,” said the Pay-TV company.
Below are the new prices.
DStv SA also introduced new add ons prices as shown below.
Prices for other services such as, DStv EasyView, DStv Access, Access Fee, BoxOffice rentals, Decoder insurance remain static.
DStv added, “We shared some great moments in 2016 and will continue to invest in the best local and international content. We’re committed to keep improving our offering so it gets better every year.”
While SA’s prices have been hiked, Zimbabweans subscribing to DStv Zimbabwe keep their fingers crossed hoping they won’t share the same fate as their South African neighbours.
