Zimbabweans consumed 16,834 Terrabytes

In this regard, through the Universal Services Fund POTRAZ has embarked on a number of projects in this Province that are aimed at ensuring Universal Access to ICTs.”

A total of 16,834 Terabytes of mobile Internet and data was consumed in Zimbabwe in the fourth quarter compared to the third quarter of 2020.

In a statement issued by the Postal and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) a 13.1 percent growth was recorded from 14,878 Terabytes which was consumed in the third quarter of 2020.

POTRAZ further said the in-bundle data has constituted 97.1 percent of total mobile Internet and data usage, up from 95.1 percent recorded in the third quarter of 2020.

In the forth quarter, NetOne and Telecel lost market share by 8.1 percent 0.6 percent, respectively in line with the decline in consumption.

Econet has however gained mobile Internet and data traffic market share which was lost by the two telecommunication companies and it grew by 8.1 percent.
