Zimbabwe will be hosting Africa’s preparatory meeting for the World Telecommunication Development Conference from July 3 to July 6 in Victoria Falls.
Addressing the International Telecommunication Union council yesterday, Acting ICT, Postal and Courier Services minister Chris Mushowe said the country’s resort town will be home to Africa’s ITU member countries ahead of the WTDC 2017 to be held in Argentina this October.
“In preparation for the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-17) to be held in Buenos Aires Argentina in October this year, and the plenipotentiary Conference to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 2018, I am pleased to inform you that Zimbabwe will be hosting the African Preparatory Meeting scheduled for 3 to 6 July in the town of Victoria Falls,” he said.
The country also hosted other telecommunication conferences this year. One was organised by TelOne with the other by the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe.
