ZETDC Warns of Interrupted Prepaid Electricity Payment Service

The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) says it will halt the payment of prepaid electricity as from tonight till Sunday morning as they will be doing maintenance service for the vending system. 

Zimbabweans will not be able to top up their prepaid electricity during the maintenance period. 

This comes following the public’s complaints on hassles they had when buying prepaid electricity credit.

“The Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) would like to advise its valued customers countrywide that the Prepaid Electricity Vending system will not be available for service from Friday 7 April at 2230hrs to Sunday, 9 April 2017 at 1000hrs .

“This is to facilitate for scheduled maintenance works to improve service delivery,” said the company.

“The scheduled address the challenges that customers have been experiencing during the past weeks to ensure efficient service delivery,” said ZETDC.

To avoid being inconvenienced, ZETDC urged customers to get enough electricity to cover them during the maintenance period.

“Customers are advised to ensure that they buy adequate electricity that would sustain them during this maintenance period to avoid the inconvenience of running out of prepaid credit,” said the company.
