VMCZ Holds Bloggers Workshop

The Voluntary Media Council of Zimbabwe (VMCZ) will tomorrow hold a Bloggers Workshop in Harare where Zimbabwean bloggers   and online content creators convene in the drafting of a code of conduct.

This workshop will be held against the background of existing initiatives such as Bloggers Alliance of Zimbabwe (BLAZE) and the Zim Online Content Creators (ZOCC).

Bloggers and content creators will provide their input on how the code of conduct will be formulated.

VMCZ is a professional media self-regulatory body set up in 2007 by Zimbabwean journalists and other stakeholders in civil society who subscribe to the principles of media freedom, accountability, independence, and ethical journalism.

VMCZ’s mission is to promote a strong and ethical media with the ability to contribute to building a more democratic and just society within policy and legal environments that facilitate growth and development of independent, pluralistic, and free media.

Interested bloggers and content creators can attend the workshop at Batanai Gardens along First Street. The workshop starts at 9am.
