Its About Time Businesses Embrace Instagram Marketing

After being bought by Facebook, Instagram has stood the test of time, registering increased users monthly, creating an opportunity for businesses to take their products advertisement to Instagram. 

The January statistics revealed that there has been a rise in the number of daily Instagram users from 100 million in October 2016 to 150 million starting January 2017.Instagram has been growing at an alarming rate since it was launched, at approximately 15% more users signing up each year.

Current statistics from 2016 show that it hosts between 400-500 million active users per month. People have processed over 30 billion photographs on the site in total and a mind-bending 70 million pictures are shared per day, excluding video content! This alone should be reason enough to put Instagram high up on your social media priorities list.

Your audience base will increase tremendously on Instagram and you will be able to reach users on an international scale.

Even though one still reaches a bigger audience on Facebook and Twitter, it is time for business to go with the tide and focus on what is new.

Last year it was predicted that by 2017, 51.8% of social media users will be on Instagram, surpassing all other platforms in terms of engagement and followers. Currently it’s not in the lead, but it is certainly set up to be in the future, especially with the population growth the planet is experiencing in the 21st century.

One of the reasons Instagram will take over other social media platforms of the future is due to how our brains process information. The expression “pictures are worth thousands of words” comes to light here very much indeed.

This has seen different companies from media companies to restaurants in Zimbabwe engaging on Instagram marketing even though Facebook continues to be the number one social network when it comes to reach.

According to the latest research by Dreamgrow, the platform has 1.79 billion monthly active users. So if you’re looking to increase visibility alone, Facebook wins hands-down.

The best part about Instagram is that it has some of the most highly engaged users. On an average day, users share more than 95 million photos and videos. And these posts yield a total of about 4.2 billion likes in a single day. When it comes to engagement, Facebook doesn’t perform as well as Instagram.

The Forrester study also supported this claim. It shows that the platform generates the second highest number of user interactions with brands.

Aside from the high engagement rates on the platform, Instagram also brings in highly-engaged website visitors. Yotpo conducted a study to find out which channels bring in the most engaged traffic. According to this study, website visitors from Instagram spend an average of 192 seconds. This is higher than any other marketing channel. In fact, visitors from Instagram stay 45% longer than visitors from Facebook and 40% longer than visitors from Twitter.

So you do not really have to abandon Twitter ,Facebook and SnapChat but add Instagram to your marketing strategy as it will do you good.
