TelOne Ushers in New Area Codes

Converged telecommunications company TelOne recently rolled out new area codes for several cities in Zimbabwe thus ushering a revamped era of convergence.

Indeed convergence has landed in Zimbabwe as TelOne under the National Broadband (NBB) project upgraded Chitungwiza, Juliusdale, Shurugwi, Chipangayi, Cowdray Park(Bulawayo), Mucheke (Masvingo) ,Macheke, Mkoba(Gweru), Epworth and Sunningdale.

TelOne is in a process of upgrading its exchanges which is taking place in phases resulting in the modification of area codes and landline numbers across the country as the service provider aims to provide world class communication and the same time ensuring that the customer gets more from their landline.

“If you are a TelOne customer do not worry about memorizing  your number as your old and new number will be running concurrently for six months to allow clients and their loved ones ample time  to adapt to the new area codes and numbers, so put that smile back on,” said TelOne in an advert.

Here are some of the products and services that are on offer as the converged network will introduce a whole new range of world class services and these include

The upgrade also has budget and convenience in mind as with the upgrade customers will be able to recharge their account in advance to avoid surprise bills at the end of the month.

Areas that are already covered are Ruwa, Nkayi, Zvishavane, Kariba, Karoyi, Plumtree, Mazowe, Rusape, Chiredzi, Nyanga, Parts of Marondera and Mutare, Chitungwiza, Juliusdale, Shurugwi, Chipangayi, Cowdraypark, Mucheke, Macheke, Mkoba with Epworth and Sunningdale being the latest beneficiaries.
