Telone Graduates 47 students, Offers Degree programme Next year.

Telone, Zimbabwe`s fixed phone operator and Internet Access Provider (I.A.P) today via its renowned Centre For Learning certified a total of 47 grandaunts who become fully fledged telecommunications technicians in different specialities.

The students were undertaking various diploma studies under these three distinct courses namely transmission, with 28 students, access network 15 students and Switch with 4 students

Today Telone prides in training various students for different mobile network operators as they continue to create the skilled workforce for the information communication sector.

Speaking during the graduation, The Telone Managing Director, Mrs Mutasa said we are proud that for many years now we have continued to train students and provided the industry including all the mobile network operators with their engineers.

β€œThe Telone Centre for learning (TCFL) currently exists to provide the required competencies to meet the current and future needs of Telone primarily and the ICT sector in general. The ICT sector remains one of the fastest growing and dynamic sectors.

We are therefore proud to be the cornerstone of this sector in terms of the provision of the requisite competencies that drives this growth, this dispensation arguers well for the grandaunts as opportunities for employment remain very bright.” Said Mtasa

To add so much excitement, the Telone boss also announced that β€œ Telone Centre for Learning will be offering its first Barchelor of Science Honours Degree in Telecommunications Engineering in Partnership with National University of Science and Technology NUST next year 2014”

This goes miles in strengthening the certification by the institution which has been in the business of training local technicians for more than 20 years now.

Chipo Mtasa disclosed that Telone is among the only two SADC certified training institutions in the region with a South African based institution coming second making their centre a very competent and well recognised training institution.

There was so much celebration for the excelling students with their parents and relatives who all came in numbers to celebrate the birth of new local technology engineers in Zimbabwe as they lay the bedrock of Zimbabwe technology.
