Telone Donates Bins In Harare (in Pictures)

Zimbabwe’s largest fixed telephony operator,  TelOne today under their CSR unveiled a bin donation program which was announced at their Runhare head offices.As part of their Corporate Social Investment for 2016-2017, TelOne is running a campaign dubbed ‘Provide a Bin through which litter bins are to be donated to cities and towns around Zimbabwe.

Their Corporate Social Investment initiative is running with the theme ,”Connecting People, Building Communities”.

At the launch the company handed over 350 bins to the City of Harare bringing them to 500 as they are 150 which are already installed, supporting their 2500 bins target for the central business district as given to them by the environment authorities.

TelOne has already installed 150 bins at Copacabana, Africa Unity Square , Simon Muzenda street, Sam Nujoma Street, Leopold Takawira, Jason Moyo , Inez Terez, Robert Mugabe and Kwame Nkrumah Avenue.

”As TelOne supporting environmental management is one of the key thematic areas of intervention in our Corporate Social Investment plan for the current strategic period running up to 2018”, said Mr Hopewell Zinyau the Human Resources Director.

This comes at a time whereby the Harare City council is on a campaign to have Harare reaching the world class city status by 2025. This is only possible with  adequate refuse facilities hence reducing littering maintaining a clean city.

Today’s presentation demonstrates TelOne’s commitment to be a good corporate citizen and ensure that we keep our environment clean.The company’s Human Resources Director also appealed to the City ,TelOne and public to maintain the litter bins and guard against vandalism.
