TelOne Awards 163 Graduands With Diplomas

It was a joyous day at TelOne Centre for Learning where 163 telecommunication technician graduands were awarded diplomas after successfully completing the three year course. The graduation coincided  with the launch of seven Huawei Certification diplomas.

Speaking at the ceremony, ICT, Postal and Courier Services Permanent Secretary Engineer Sam Kundishora said the qualification is on demand across the globe.

“It gives me great pleasure to be here today to preside over the 2017 TelOne Centre for Learning Graduation Ceremony where we will be conferring diplomas to 163 Telecommunication Technician graduands.

“We are indeed excited to see this programme growing from strength to strength over the years were it has been a critical pillar in supporting the development of telecommunication in Zimbabwe and the region,” he said.


TelOne Managing Director Chipo Mtasa said they have witnessed a growth of diploma students over the years responding to the dynamic ICT developments by joining the TCFL.

“…These developments in the ICT sector have culminated in radical changes in business seeing us working to transform this institution to not only offer enhanced telecommunications training but also to deliver soft business skills. This has seen the introduction of three (3) new technical and one (1) new business programmes this year bringing our total diploma programmes to five (5) certification programmes to six (6) and a lot more short business and technical courses.

“Diploma student population has responded to these developments, resulting in a growth from 222 in 2014 to 982 today. TCFL has also been able to deliver technical certification training to 360 participants from a number of organisations in the past year, some of who are represented here today,” she said.

In a strong bid to grow the depth of course offerings while providing the necessary contemporary skills, the Centre has since evolved to offer the following ICT diplomas:,  Diploma in Data Science, Diploma in Software Engineering, Diploma in Computer Networking  Diploma in Digital Marketing which the Permanent Secretary  officially launched.

Huawei Certified Network Associate Associate – CLOUD COMPUTING 4. Huawei Certified Network Associate Associate – DATACOM 5. Huawei Certified Network Associate Associate – STORAGE 6. Huawei Certified Network Associate Associate – SECURITY 7. Huawei Certified Network Associate Associate – ACCESS.
