Telecel May NOT be launching As "Telecash"

Telecel Zimbabwe may not be launching their much awaited mobile money transfer as “Telecash” as previously reported.

A source within the organisation gave leads that “Telecash” is only one amongst the names for consideration and may not be the actual name for their next mobile service to be launched soon.
The source however did not confirm whether the name “telecash” is going to be done away with or may still find its way as the actual official term for the mobile money service.
When we asked the source why some forms and flyers were already written the name “Telecash” then, the source said the name was only there for prototype issues and sampling the product before officially launching.
We however could not get the actual date when the Telecel mobile money will be launched as it seems they will keep things under wraps only to disclose information towards the official launch, or maybe even during the launch.
Some critics said for Telecel to launch as “Telecash”, it would be a sign of lack of creativity as this would really look like they are merely following the steps of their competitor Econet who is already running Ecocash.
This however may be an invalid statement considering that both the mobile phone networks have been using “Eco or Tele “ prefix in many other other products they already have in the market with names like “Ecofarmer and Teletunes” coming quickly on one`s mind.
Another source ridiculed the name saying Telecel is much more creative and will not follow in the steps of a competitor.
Telecel becomes the third mobile network service provider to launch their own mobile money transfer system in Zimbabwe.
