Telecel calls more expensive than Econet

Telecel just announced that on-net Telecel calls have increased to ZWL$0.96 per minute and off-net Telecel calls will be ZWL$0.92. These prices are higher than its competitor Econet. Econet said with effect from today, calls will now cost ZWL$0.0139 per second, which is ZWL$0.83 cents per minute.

Whenever we’ve comparisons in variations in prices Telecel has always been the only operator with favorable tariffs. So this comes as a bit of a suprise, but after all, businesses are doing all they can to stay afloat while consumers continue to feel the heat.

In terms of data tariffs Telecel is now charging ZWL$0.19 per megabyte meanwhile Econet is now at ZWL$0.24 per megabyte. SMS prices for both operators are at ZWL$0.24.

According to these prices, Econet is relatively cheaper when it comes to making both on-net and off-net calls. Telecel is cheap only in data but retains the same pieces for sms as its competitor.

However, NetOne has not yet reviewed any of their tariffs.
