Not more than two weeks ago, Zimbabwe`s fastest growing mobile telecommunication operator; Telecel Zimbabwe had gone crazy in promos and again this week, they have just gone a little more crazy as they beat their own record.
A fortnight ago, I gave an analyses why Telecel Zimbabwe`s mega promotion was just a first of its kind in Zimbabwe since it is the only promotion which has dared to cross the internetwork boundaries.
This promotion seemed to have a very favourable focus on offering their current subscribers unlimited free calls across all networks
This time around Telecel Zimbabwe has targeted their market but from the graves, -yes the grave- all those with dormant lines may now have much more better reasons to reconnect their lines for a cool FREE $20 extra. This sounds too good to be true but the promotion has already begun since Thursday according to their PR Officer.
For those who had their lines gathering dust, will most likely be taking time to dust up or maybe we should expect some queues resurfacing again at Telecel shops in attempts to reconnect, we are closely watching the market response.
A subscriber who called TechnoMag said “its time I now buy myself a dual sim card handset, I have fallen in love with two different networks and want to keep them both active now.”
The promotion is focusing on pre-paid subscribers who have been dormant or passive not those who had their lines completely disconnected. Lines suspended before July 1, 2012 are not eligible to benefit from the promotion.
The official release has this to point out to.
This reactivation promo has been a response to the huge number of subscribers wanting to join our network many of whom have had their lines suspended.
Thanks to our focus on customer satisfaction and making mobile telephony affordable more and more people are finding value on our network and this promotion helps drive the desire to reactivate dormant lines.” commented Ashraf Elguindy, Telecel Chief Commercial Officer.
The generous $10 welcome bonus and the additional $10 bonus after recharging and calling to the value of 20 cents is our way of thanking our subscribers for choosing us. Telecel does not take its customers for granted and where possible we will continue to offer as much value as is feasible from a business perspective,” he added.
