Zimbabwe`s Mobile Network Operators joined hands last Friday in full support of Zimpost`s regional soccer tournament, the Southern African Postal Operators Association (SAPOA) which Zimbabwe`s is the defending champion.
The ceremony was graced by the Managing Director of Zimpost Dr Zimbango, he spoke highly of the Zimpost Team and praised the sportsman for winning for the past three consecutive time. He also encouraged them to play harder and maintain their discipline as they will most likely be targets to the other teams competing.
Sporting is one of the main extra curriculum activities that relaxes the mind and excites the body and soul. Today they was a special ceremony at Zimpost, the representatives for the Zimpost who are going to be taking part at the Southern African Postal Operators Association Games were being given a farewell ceremony.

The SAPOA games are an annual sporting code and social event that bring together postal staff from designated postal operators within the SADC region to participate in various sporting disciplines. These games will be hosted in Lesotho on the 13th – 15th of October 10, 2014. The sports tournament has representatives from the following countries South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Zambia and Malawi.
Zimpost has been known to bring trophies at SAPOA having won the tournament overall trophy for three consecutive years since they hosted the event in 2011. With the amount of training that they have been doing since March 2014 they are not expecting anything less than awards and the overall trophy for the 4th time.The sports will include Golf, Volley Ball, Soccer and Athletics (100m,200m,400m, 5000m and 4*100m), High Jump and Long jump.
Southern African Postal Association (SAPOA) is the SADC regional body responsible for postal sector and is headquartered in Pretoria South Africa. The Organization, whose mandate is to ensure sustainable postal development in the region, was launched in Maseru, Lesotho in 2011.
This year’s games will be played under the theme ‘Postal Games for Community Development’ which is a three year theme.
