Shoko Festival 2016 Roars Into Life


The 6th edition of the  Shoko festival roars into life today , giving festival goers a chance to come and celebrate the word ,the music and the city. The festival curtains close   on the 25th of September running  with the theme  #COME ALIVE.

The theme ‘come alive’  comes during a tough economic year for the country and it is a call on festive goers to get inspired and enthralled by the amazing festive experience that brings Zimbabweans together for a good time.

The well attended event also hopes to save as a platform for media , tech, and citizen journalism and this is evident in this years programming  at the Hub Unconference taking place at the Harare city library on the 23rd and 24 of September.This seeks to promote the Tech Start ups and young innovators in Zimbabwe. From lightning talks to cutting edge panels this will be the space to get inspired by amazing speakers from around

This years Shoko festival brings a breed of the hottest entertainers locally regionally and internationally. The Shoko festival 2016 will be headlined by one of Africa’s biggest rappers AKA along side Zimbabwe’s man of the moment Jah Prayzah and other  artists such as Ammara Brown, Donovan Goliath ( SA), Tehn Diamond, Q The Boss, African Sunz ( Norway) ,Dobba Don, Bryan K, Gemma Griffiths (Norway) and many more!

The 2016 Shoko festival will take place at  The Zimbabwe museum of human sciences grounds on the Rotten Row show ground in the CBD. Apart from the music  live shows and the fun there will also be  creative markets, food stalls, urban fashion  and general  good vibes that will definitely keep festive lovers in a good mood  and hopefully stress free.
