#PressStatement: Ministry of ICT on the recent ICT Innovations Showcases

The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services would like to thank all innovators, stakeholders and partners who joined the Ministry together with POTRAZ and the entire postal and telecommunications sector at the just ended successful ICT Innovators showcases in Bulawayo and Harare.

Many young innovators had the opportunity to showcase their brilliant and revolutionizing innovations that marvelled a number of attendees and stakeholders. This led to industry and corporates responding extremely positive and expressing interest in harnessing and tapping into these innovations that can enhance their products, services. market distribution and processes.

It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and excitement from both the ICT Innovators and industry at how much talent and solutions were on offer at both showcases.

The ultimate goal of the Zimbabwe ICT Innovation Fund set up by the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services in partnership with POTRAZ and the entire postal and telecommunications sector is to create an environment that motivates young Zimbabweans to innovate to their fullest potential and commercialize their innovations to offer real solutions for all sectors of the country’s economy.

The Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services would like to express its sincere gratitude to the mobile telecommunications service providers, Internet Access Providers and the Postal & Courier service providers who have already contributed a significant amount into the fund this far and continue to do so. We would also like to thank industry for its embrace and positive response towards this initiative, we hope that this relationship will continue to benefit the economy.

The Ministry of ICT through POTRAZ will be hosting an industry and innovators breakfast on Wednesday, 12th October, 2016 at Crowne Plaza Monomotapa from 0730hrs to create a platform and conversation between the Innovators and industry for possible partnership and collaboration.
