The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced new fuel prices which take effect on the 5th of this month.
The price of petrol in United States dollars has gone up to US$1.34 from US$1.30 while diesel remains unchanged at US$1.32 per litre.
In local currency price now stands at ZW$112.96 per litre for petrol from ZW$109.17 while diesel now costs ZW$111.77 from ZW$110.41 per litre.
The new price hikes come exactly a month after another hike was announced on March 05 2021.
However, the increase of fuel might trigger the increase in price of basic commodities as transport might also a bit expensive.
President Mnangagwa became the first sitting head of State to announce the increase of fuel in Zimbabwe less than a year in his Presidency an act analysts say is a cause for concern as ever since the price has been soaring.
