NetOne_Telecel Drop Subscribers

Mobile Operators Telecel Zimbabwe and NetOne have recorded a decline in market share of mobile subscribers.

Telcel Zimbabwe also recorded a decline in market share of mobile voice traffic and in active subscription.

Whilst NetOne also recorded a decline in active subscription.

According to Postal Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) 1st Quarter 2022 Sector Report records that Telecel records 0.2% decline on market share of mobile subscribers and NetOne recorded a decline of 0.4%.

On the other hand Econet gained by 0.6% on market share of mobile subscribers.

POTRAZ 1st Quarter 2022 Sector report records that Telecel and NetOne recorded a decline on market share of mobile voice traffic of 5% and 1.1% respectively.

The report states that this is the first quarter over the past year, for NetOne to record a decline in active subscriptions.

On the other hand Telecel’s active subscriber base has been consistently declining.

Econet was the only mobile network to record a growth in active subscriptions.

Telecel also recorded a decline in voice traffic market share by 0.2%, whereas NetOne and Econet gained 1%, individually.
