NetOne has started interviews and allegedly completed the process under very shrewd circumstances as they seek replacement for Lazarus Muchenje TechnoMag can reveal.
Sources close to the developments told TechnoMag that a private company Proserve consultancy was contracted for the job and has only favoured the opportunity to only 3 candidates who have already attended the process some weeks ago.
However there has been an outcry over transparency and professionalism over the process as many competent candidates were never invited for the interviews, neither were they responded to their applications.
“The interviews have already been done and were conducted recently at NetOne, We are not sure why other competitive applicants were not granted the equal opportunity” said another board member.
Proserve Consultancy which is in charge of the process allegedly received more than 10 applications, and more than 4 of the applicants were clear cut potentials eligible for the post but they never received any communication from the recruiting agency.
Sources close to the developments have said that the Consultancy firm has been instructed to handpick a certain preferred candidate while they sugar coat the process as a legitimate selection process before they announce their preference candidate.
TechnoMag contacted Mr Emmanuel Jinda, who is the Managing Director of Proserve consultancy, for a comment over these incredulous allegations, but unfortunately he did not respond to our numerous emails seeking clarification.
Proserve is the same company that was used to audit NetOne Board members and allegedly stated that some of the board members were incompetent and scored very low to remain on the board .
Further investigation however proved that the document by Proserve was nothing but a farce, a scapegoat only used to force the former Chairman and other board members to resign from NetOne.
NetOne board members made statements that they were forced to resign after unprofessional environment was forced upon them, and the report from Proserve could only be fair if they fired the whole board not selective application, as only Susan Mutangadura was saved.
Proserve consultancy advertised the NetOne CEO posts on the 5th of February 2021, the process however was supposed to have been halted by a legal challenge currently pending at the Supreme Court after NetOne Appealed the return of Muchenje CEO.
This makes the whole process illegal as the matter is still sub judice.
