Liquid's Latest On Fibre Roll Out In Zim


Liquid Telecomms has rolled out 10 600 kilometres of fibre across Zimbabwe since inception as the fibre company works towards consolidating its position as the leading internet serves provider in the country.The fibre company which is part of the Econet Group has also rolled out 25 000 kilometres of fibre across Africa.
It supplies fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to Africa’s largest mobile network operators, ISPs and businesses of all sizes.
Liquid Telecoms also provides payment solutions to financial institutions and retailers, as well as data storage and communication solutions to businesses across Africa.
Making a presentation at the Institute of Internal Auditors Zimbabwe in Victoria Falls yesterday ,Liquid Telecomms chief commercial officer Martin Mushambadope said the company has over the years rolled out exciting products for the market.
“Commercially we have packages that start as low as $6 per month as a way of encouraging access to information.
“We have rolled out several products for the benefit of the market and among the products is the high definition voice,” he said.
Liquid Telecom was the first in Zimbabwe to introduce Fibre To The Home, connecting households across the country onto its high-speed fibre network.
The company is also the largest data, voice and IP provider in Zimbabwe, supplying wholesale fibre optic, satellite and international carrier services to telecommunications operators in Zimbabwe
The Liquid Telecom Group last year announced that it had raised $150 million to fund the further expansion of its fibre network in Africa.
The fibre company has spent years building what is now Africa’s largest independent cross-border fibre network which runs across 15 nations in East and Central Africa covering Africa’s fast-growing economies where no fixed network has existed before and connecting to all the subsea cables.
Liquid Telecom’s customers include other wholesale carriers, mobile network operators, ISPs, financial institutions and businesses of all sizes and homes.
It also operates retail businesses in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zimbabwe among other countries.
