Zimbabwe`s largest fibre optic company Liquid Telecoms, has been shortlisted for the prestigious World Communications Awards and appears in the Best Wholesale Carrier category alongside giants like NTT, PCCW, Tata and TeliaSonera.
Now in its 15th year, The World Communication Awards are organised by the publishers of Total Telecom and recognise the companies and individuals responsible for the innovations, achievements and great new services in the telecoms industry.
With an experienced panel of independent judges, the awards are open to all communications providers, whether they are a traditional carrier, service provider, multimedia content provider or another organisation providing a communication service.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in London on December 3. More details are at totaltele.com
Liquid Telecom has also been shortlisted twice at the annual awards of Capacity Magazine in the following categories:
Best African Wholesale Carrier alongside Orange, PCCW Global and WIOCC.
Best Service Innovation alongside DE-CIX, iBasis, Global Capacity, and Telekom Austria Group.
According to Capacity magazine, the awards focus on the contribution of individuals, companies and technology partners that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of carrier services in the past 12 months. The awards are independently judged by a panel of telecoms analysts, industry experts and the senior editorial team of Capacity magazine.
The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Amsterdam on November 13.
Last year Liquid Telecoms scooped the prestigious awards for the mass African terrestrial Fibre optic they have successfully stretched across the continent.
