Instagram has rolled out a new feature which enables all users around the world to pin their comments on top of their feed post.
The social media giant says this means that users can now pin three comments and make it easier to manage the conversation.
When you stick a comment to the top of the section, you’ll bring a bit more prominence to it and nudge the discussion more towards the direction you want it to go.
Announcing the development on Twitter Instagram said , “Today we’re rolling out pinned comments everywhere .That means you can a pin a few comments to the top of your feed post and better manage the conversation.”
When you swipe on a comment, you’ll now see a ‘pin’ selection along with the usual reply, delete and report options.
It’s a useful update to the algorithmically-sorted section, and it should help you prevent conversations from going off
Instagram previously announced that it was going to start testing the feature in May, as part of its plan to fight online bullying. “This feature gives people a way to set the tone for their account and engage with their community by pinning a select number of comments to the top of their comments thread,” Instagram had said. The feature is meant to give people a way to amplify and encourage positive interactions.
