Impact Hub Harare Calls For Seedstars Competition Applications

Global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World is inviting applications for its first ever Zimbabwean leg, where 10 startups  are set to pitch for the chance to represent the country  at an competition hosted by Impact Hub Harare.

Startups with brilliant ideas even those with businesses that have been running for less than two years are eligible to compete for the competition. 

While the deadline for applications is October 20, competition takes place from October 29 to October 30. The winner for the Harare competition will represent Zimbabwe in the Swiss capital of Zurich where US$500 000 is up for grabs.

“The winner of this competition will earn a free trip to Zurich, Switzerland and represent Zimbabwe on a global stage by pitching their idea in front of international investors for a chance to win $500K of investment,” said Impact Hub Harare on an advertisement.

“We are excited about providing this opportunity to social entrepreneurs.” said Tadzoka Pswarayi a co-founder of Impact hub Harare. She added, “This programming is in line with our vision to grow the social impact field and buttress the budding entrepreneurs with meaningful opportunities.”
SeedStars is currently in 20 cities in 15 different countries in Africa.
International partners for this competition include Inmarsat, INADEM, Standard Bank and Deloitte.
In other African countries this event has been well supported by leading local brands and in Zimbabwe, Impact Hub is currently talking to local dynamic brands who not only have business products that support entrepreneurs but have a passion for developing high potential entrepreneurs for the development of our nation.
