HIT Vice Chancellor wins International Award for Leadership Excellence in Technology Innovation

The Harare Institute of Technology Vice Chancellor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe has been honored with the “Award for Leadership Excellence in Technology Innovation” while the University was also recognized with the “Award for Institutional Building.”

These awards were bestowed at the 7th Edition of the Asia Best Employer Brand Awards 2016 hosted by the World HRD Congress and held at the Pan Pacific, Marina Square in Singapore on 4 August 2016.

In its citation during the awarding ceremony, the World HRD Congress said the  “Leadership Excellence in Technology Innovation” is awarded to Vice Chancellor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe’s in recognition of his leadership in transforming the Harare Institute of Technology to become a university at the forefront of technology development, incubation, transfer and commercialization in Zimbabwe.

The “Award for Institutional Building” is in recognition of the Harare Institute of Technology’s robust approach to institution building where organizational structures, highly practical curriculum, human capital development policies, international collaborations have made the institution gain national and global recognition as well as awards.

HIT is not looking back since the Institute started writing success stories 2010 and have seen quite a number of its scholars in various academic fields stealing the limelight on several international stages with the likes of Clive Nyapokoto of the famous Vermi-Aquaponics smart agricultural system recently scooping the Energy Global Award in South, Kudzai Chasinda also becoming the first ever Zimbabwean scholar to get a historic Google recognition and many other uprising influential technocrats like Tapiwanashe Matangira of the D-Rover Project.
