The Harare Agriculture Show, Zimbabwe`s biggest annual national event showcasing business adepts from various sectors of production came to a full swing on Wednesday 20 August 2014. This year’s show is running from August 20 to 30 under the theme ‘Sustaining And Transforming Agricultural Growth’.
As has always been the situation with the first day, the national event started on a low note as evidenced by the interviews we carried out during our stand tours.

Yesterday was a different day as scores of people from various walks of life and business fraternities converged at the Glamis Arena where His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe officially declared the 104th edition of the Harare Agricultural Show open.
This year’s event was graced by Congo-Brazzaville First Lady Antoinette Sassou-Nguesso who toured various stands in the company of the first lady Amai Grace Mugabe. The Congo-Brazzaville First Lady commended the efforts made by employees and employers towards the Aids Levy.
We managed to tour all Telecoms stands to have a feel of new products, giveaways, free WiFi and of course stand presentabilty as this comes with a price. Outstanding stands will stand a chance to win prices.
The first to be toured was the Econet stand, people normally expects perfection from Econet but this time they let their fans down as their stand was below par.
They only used their Econet Shop with Econet banners and a shade outside the building. The stand was packed to capacity as people thronged the building to buy ZTE $15 phone which comes with a free solar lantern.
NetOne was perfectly done, eclipsed with a huge banner outside is a shop with a big screen fitted inside running all NetOne adverts and promotions tallying with its technological prowess. The stand was up to scratch and you could tell that it’s purely a technology company as evidenced by inside modern technology exhibited.
Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry, and for such big events as Harare Agriculture Show we expect technology to be exuded at a highest level especially from ICT companies.
TelOne, one of the government parastatal has this time proved its readiness to deliver high end services in terms of technology. The stand was exquisitely decorated outside with banners all over and their recently launched VSAT Kaband was also part of the hosting team.
As if all that was not enough, we stepped inside, the set up was technologically done proving their reason of participating in this year’s Agriculture Show, ‘To showcase their technological skills’.
They furnished their shop with a huge flat screen, live streaming news across the globe powered by their ADSL broadband. There are three laptops for visitors to test their silver, gold and platinum packages plus free Wi-Fi to those who might want to use their gadgets to test the speeds of their internet.
Telone is also running a promotion during the course of this event, memory sticks, USB hubs, caps and t shirts are up for grabs under this promotion.
Just by registering your contacts with them, take a selfie and post on their Facebook page or tweet about your experience at their stand under harsh tag #BringingYouTogether can make you a winner of any of the prices listed above.
The Teleclel team is also marketing its recently launched Gold card to its clients and also non-clients who haven’t got the opportunity to access the smart payment product. For more pictures see our Facebook page
