Facebook has launched BARS, a TikTok like application dedicated to the production of rap music content.
The Facebook BARS app is the company’s new effort to compete with TikTok, this time by focusing on rappers.
Created by Facebook’s New Production Experimentation (NPE) R&D team, the new application comes with a pre-recorded beats that turn your words into a professional sounding raps.
The NPE team believes that users don’t need any structured rap experience to use the BARS app to build content
Using built-in tools, users of Facebook’s BARS app can build and share raps.
According to the NPE team:
“The app has a Challenge mode, which allows you to freestyle while also offering auto-suggested word cues.
“The experience is geared to people who just want to have some fun with rap, perhaps similar to Smule’s AutoRap, which also provides beats for users’ own recordings.
“When you’re finished with your lyrics and flow, you can use the Facebook BARS app to improve your rap material with a range of audio and visual filters.
“To change your vocal performance in the videos, you’ll get preloaded tools like Clean, AutoTune, Imaginary Friends, and AM Radio.
“If you’ve done refining your rap videos, you can export them and save them to your Camera Roll using the BARS app. You may also use social media sites to share your content with others.”
However the BARS app is currently only available for a limited number of iOS users and is available for download from Apple’s US App Store.
