Recently in Mutare, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe scooped the Exceptional Product Combo Award through its innovative EcoCash product and also the Exceptional Corporate Social Responsibility award for driving the Joshua Nkomo Scholarship Fund.
These accolades were presented during the prestigious annual, 2013 Marketers Association of Zimbabwe’s Marketing Awards.
Ecocash Which recently turned two years, announced that they have reached 2,3 million users backed by their agency network of 700 agency to drive the system that has brought not just convenience but a lifestyle to Zimbabweans.
Ecocash is currently reported to be contributing 22% of Zimbabwe`s GDP with an estimated $200million in monthly transactions safely settling it for the “biggest bank” in Zimbabwe.

Ecocash became so popular in Zimbabwe as a relaxed mode to quickly send and receive money for Zimbabweans and millions of subscribers have jumped aboard, yet today you can do so much more including bill payments and over the counter transactions and also in kombis, tough we serious doubt its imprint in this sector.
The CSR award is given to an organisation that has demonstrated sustainable programmes that benefit the society.
