Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has launched a top class platinum shop in Harare today at Avondale Shopping Center, a first of its kind in Harare by the telco as it reaffirms its preparedness to ensuring the needs of high value clients are identified and met.
The new look platinum suite offers a variety of services ranging from airtime top-up, bill payment, replacements, the purchase of handsets and devices and EcoCash mobile money transfer service as well.
Fungayi Mandiveya the Econet’s high value customer services general manager said they have invested on the platinum new look suite during his opening remarks.
The Avondale platinum suite is the second shop after the company has launched its first state of the art platinum shop in Bulawayo at Bradefield Shopping Complex, the chief commercial and customer services officer Stanley Henning said.
The Chief customer services officer also hinted on the coming soon of another one stop shop in Borrowdale at Sam Levis village.
“The retail shops are of its kind in the continent, something that has never been done by any network providing company,” echoed Stanley.
He also emphasised on meeting the needs of their 8.5 million customers countrywide. ¨We will not allow competition to catch up with us but will make sure that our clients’ needs are provided everyday¨
The Econet Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Mboweni also had the time to share his experience with the network brand. He also took us back to the 10th of July 1998 when Econet Wireless was launched. ¨It took us 10 good years without the ability to expand our network due to economic hardships but here we are¨, He explained
The Econet boss also noted that the company has a vision of covering the entire population of Zimbabwe in network provision. The fibre connectivity has to go as far as the rural areas to connect teachers and doctors online. The Platinum shop project is a give back to the valued client initiative, where clients are coming to a one stop for their services to be met, so it’s a suit customer’s service project.
The boss also hinted on the continuity of investing in order to meet clients’ needs as Econet will continue investing to make sure clients’ needs are meet. Mboweni added that Econet is no longer just providing solutions to problems but has grown beyond that, feel good category is what the company is currently rolling out to its valued clients.
It’s time we need to start finding solutions to problems rather spending time in talking about challenges, in 2009 after the dollarization Mboweni met the founder and chairman of Econet Wireless Mr Strive Masiyiwa to map the way forward and they agreed to start their innovations that time rather than waiting for economic situation to stabilise. This has seen the brand growing, he said as he shared some of the phases Econet went through.
After delivering his speech the Econet platinum Shop was officially unveiled to the Zimbabwean market, eye witnessed by hundreds.
To ensure convenience to their high value clients, the premium shop comes with a number of benefits that include access to top class service, flexible payment plans for handsets and devices, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in the lounge suites where premium customers access and surf Internet.
“With this new look platinum suite, we are not segregating our valued customers but we are striving to raise the level of our service delivery and generally improving customers’ experience,” Mboweni said.
The event was wrapped up with some clients going out smiling with Samsung galaxy s4 in a drop your business card and win draw which was conducted in the new look suite.
