With effect from 1 April 2019 Econet subscribers will be paying RTGS$0.22 per minute for a voice call.
Econet has separated their billing into per second and per minute billing. In a public notice they released yesterday, Econet announced it will be charging RTGS$0.038 per second, that is to say it will cost subscribers $2.28 to call in a minute.
Potraz has however released a circular with regards to increase in tariffs by the MNOs recommended that tariffs should fall within the Long-Run Average Incremental Cost (LRIC) model. Technically, a call is supposed to cost not more than $0.17 and shown below:
Meanwhile, Internet Service providers have pegged their broadband services in United States dollars in response to measures announced in the 2019 Monetary Policy Statement presented in February.
Zol Zimbabwe, Liquid Telecom and TelOne have indicated that their rates are indexed in US dollars.
