Have you ever thought of that moment were you could simply take out your smart phone from your pocket or hand bag , and within a few minutes you would have shared your story with any media house there and then.
This is the opportunity that is being presented by the new application called Tip-star created by Tatenda Mapfumo and her team . Tatenda is a freelance journalist who attained a Media and Journalism Studies degree at the National University of Science and Technology.( NUST)

Speaking at the innovation showcase in held in Bulawayo , Tatenda highlighted that tipster would help provide current news faster to news houses as well on-line blogs mainly because tipsters would be everywhere in all places that reporters would be unable to be at that precise time.
The tipster application is used in the following way,an individual would join the program and would be trained on how to gather information ethically , next they are deployed to surrounding neighborhoods were the already live.
It is from there that individuals would post information to the Tip-star website were various editors would re-confirm the content and forward it to the various media houses.
Tatenda also highlighted that she hopes to recruit more ‘tipstars’ as well as media and financial advisors. She also needs more capital to to procure equipment and set up a state of the art studio.
She recently won an award at the annual shoko festival for her capability to bring modern tech to full use.
