Nafuna TV To Produce Shakespeare Play Animation(Update)

Nafuna TV, one of the  fastest growing digital production company in Zimbabwe which produces and broadcast content online has been selected among other African film makers to partner in a British Council project to create a short animation for the Shakespeare play .

According to  Nqobizitha  “Enqore” Mlilo who is the founder and lead producer for Nafuna TV, the animation is set to be released this year.

“We are proudly honoured to play a part in such a big initiative ,Its not everyday that you get to be selected for something as big as Shakespeare.”

William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England’s national poet, and the “Bard of Avon”.A lot of production companies like Walt Disney have produced movies like The King Lion and Mulan among several others  based on Shakespear plays.

The fast growing studio,Nafuna TV boasts  of major animations like Angry Mwana, and Tonight with Zororo show which recently won a NAMA  award .

They also have a Nafuna campus  where they take up students for internship teaching them everything they need to know about animation for free .This year’s group is the fourth group to be  taken up in this academy.

Asked if Nafuna TV is planning on  switching to broadcasting he said: “Broadcasting is dead and does not really pay much,we will stick to subscriptions and Video On Demand (VOD) since it is the future!”
