Banks adjust operating hours



First Capital and NMB Bank have announced new operating hours due to COVID19 restrictions.

In line with the new restrictions, the cutoff time for RTGS transfers has been adjusted.

In a Twitter post, NMB announced the new development to its customers.

“Dear Valued Customer, Kindly Note that the RTGS cutoff time on the NMBConnect platform has been temporarily reviewed from the usual 1.30 PM to 11.30 AM for the duration of the lockdown.”


Whilst First Capital Bank announced the same adjustments.


“We advise of changes in operating hours to 8.30am to 2.30pm Mon-Fri and 8.00am to 11.30am Sat effective 1/07/21.RTGS cut-off time now 12noon Mon-Fri.”

The RTGS cut-off time has also been adjusted. The RTGS window will now dose at 12 noon Monday-Friday, with effect from today, Wednesday 30 June 2021 until further notice.

All payments done after hours can be queued In the system for processing on the next business day as per normal procedure.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced new curbs, including a ban on movement between towns, on Tuesday to contain the spread of infections.

To date, Zimbabwe had 48,533 confirmed Covid-19 cases and reported 1,761 deaths, according to the Health Ministry.
