Victoria Falls will be home to many from Africa as the Zimbabwe Telecommunication Giant Econet Wireless Zimbabwe hosts the Victoria Falls Marathon 2022 event.
The Event aptly dubbed Africa’s number 1 marathon, run the big 3 will take place next week on the 3rd of July, where a total of USD $25 000 is going to be up for grabs.
Contestants will participate in 3 marathon phases which are The Elephant Run-full marathon 42km, The Leopard Run -half marathon 21km and The Lion Run-the fun run 7.5km.
To shut down the Marathon, Econet will also launch the 5g connectivity service to the Vic falls community, plus a corporate golf match while the entertainment musical show from Zimbabwe’s big 3 artists Jah Prayzah, Winky D and Ammara Brown on the closing Sunday winds down the long weekend.
Southern African Development Communities (SADC) region includes Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia are going to take part in the race.
Participants in the category of Runner Nationality of Zimbabwean Citizens/Residents and all other SADC Citizens/Residents are expected to bring proof of nationality.
The race will be performed under Covid-19 regulations as per the Zimbabwe Sports and Recreation Event rules.
