Bulawayo Based Start-up To Represent Zim In Switzerland at Seedstars Global Finals

Local startup DrCadX   emerged victorious in a tight lipped SeedStars Harare World Competition where 10 startups pitched up their various concepts.

The competition was on Sunday at Impact Hub Harare’s Discovereum.

After a heated competition, the adjudicators had a tough time in selecting the best startup to represent Zimbabwe but ultimately chose Dr CadX as the winner.

Developed by software developer Gift Gana, Dr CadX is  a computer aided diagnostic system to help doctors diagnose medical images more accurately and save lives.

Dr CadX won an all expenses paid trip to the global final to be held in  Switzerland where Gift will compete for $500 000 with the rest of the world.

“I just feel excited also humbled. Came here with expectations to win but actually winning its amindblowing feeling. So Im just excited about the opportunity that we have going on forward. The Seedstars competition might be able to open doors for us in terms of linking us with partners, linkin us with potential ciustomers  and linking us with potential investors,” he said.

Drivers licence acquisition tool Road Rules Solutions came in second place, while B2B e-commerce startup Round Technologies was third.

The other startups that pitched at the event were web-based STEM learning platform Zivai,  youth financial services company PENYA Finance, business setup platform BizeX, 3D bio-tech firm Ignite Africa, and agri-tech startups iFarm, Hurudza Africa and Hurukuro.
