The Zimbabwe Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Association will next month hold a hydro carbon training workshop in a bid to encourage the use of new alternative refrigerants which are friendly to the environment.
The training workshop will be held from the 4th to the 7th of April in Harare.
He highlighted that although they are friendly to the environment, the new hydro carbon refrigerants are highly inflammable hence the need for training so that stakeholders know how best to use them.
Mr Taruvinga said during the training, demonstrations on how to determine contaminated refrigerants will also be done.
He added that cases of illegal smuggling of contaminated refrigerants has now been reduced as the country through the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate has put in place mechanism to deal with the situation.
