The Ministry of Finance has allocated a budget of ZWL$341.7million to the Information Communication Technology ministry this afternoon during the 2020 National budget presentation in parliament.
Minister of Finance Mthuli Ncube said this provision will go towards developing the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Master Plan and also assist in rolling out the National E-Government Program in order to simplify communication between citizens and government.
“The Government of Zimbabwe is developing the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Master Plan, which is an all-inclusive guideline that clearly articulates how the country will develop, deploy and manage ICTs across all sectors,”
“Government is also rolling out the National E-Government Programmes in order to simplify communication between citizens and government, and the creation of an effective system for government Departments to interact with each other. This also enables citizens to gain quicker access to government services and hence greater user satisfaction and substantial monetary saving,”
“In this regard, the 2020 Budget has made a provision of ZWL$341.7 million for the above ICT programmes,” he said.
