Zimbabwe is set to commemorate the International Day For Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) on the 27th of September, TechnoMag can report.
The event is slated for Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera and it will be running under the theme ‘Leaving no one behind’.
Residents in Marondera have been urged to attend the celebrations in their numbers as the Minister of ICT Honorable Kazembe Kazembe will be the guest of honor.
The IDUAI has particular relevance with Agenda 2030 with specific reference to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2, 11 and 16. SDG 2 looks at investment in rural infrastructure and technology development, SDG 11 is on positive economic, social and environmental links between urban, peri-urban and rural areas.
SDG 16 is on initiatives to adopt and implement constitutional, statutory and/or policy guarantees for public access to information.
