Yesterday Facebook had problems loading images, videos, and other data across its apps, leaving some people unable to load photos in the Facebook News Feed, view stories on Instagram, or send messages in WhatsApp.
According to reports by DownDetector, which monitors website and app issues, the errors weren’t affecting all images, many pictures on Facebook and Instagram were still loading, but appearing blank after.
For Zimbabweans, the outage started around 1400hrs and around 0145 Facebook said the issue was resolved and they have since released a statement of apology informing users that the problem had been rectified.
“Earlier today, some people and businesses experienced trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. The issue has since been resolved and we should be back at 100% for everyone. We’re sorry for any inconvenience,” it read
The outage led to some hilarious reactions on twitter, which was the only fully functional app yesterday.
