Six Zimbabwean innovators have been named the first beneficiaries of the much awaited Zimbabwe ICT Innovation Drive.
Oyos, Purple Signs, Shift Organic Technologies, Red Pen, Afrimom, Native Project were shortlisted out of 188 applicants.
In his remarks, Postal and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority if Zimbabwe Director General Dr Gift Machengete said they received 188 applications.
“All the 188 applications were meticulously analysed and adjudicated by a highly skilled and experienced panel of experts drawn mainly from the academia.
“The selection process was so thorough that of the 188 applications, only six were found to be sustainable, bankable and of course deserving of funding,” he said.
Potraz and the winners will talk on the payment procedures.
“We will be strictly monitoring the six projects and funding will be disbursed in phases according to the successful progression of the progress.
“The modalities of payment, loan repayment will be discussed between Potraz and the winners,” said Dr Machengete.
