“Dear Subscriber, kindly note that from 4 March 2018 OneFusion is launching a separate WhatsApp and SuperData bundle to allow you to #TakeControl of your browsing,” said Netone.
NetOne had said that the move to repackage the One Fusion bundles were borne out of the need to address concerns from subscribers who were unable to play videos on Facebook and other social media platforms using One Fusion bundles.
Not a lot of people were happy with the repackages introduced by NetOne to their One Fusion bundles with some, calling it a polite way of chasing away customers. One Fusion is a popular package that attracted a lot of people to NetOne, one of the three major Mobile Network Services Provider in Zimbabwe.
According to reports from the Postal and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ), NetOne recorded the largest increase in data/internet consumption in the 3rd quarter of 2017, increasing their market share to 23% on the back bone of their popular One Fusion bundles.
It remains to be seen how these new bundles, coupled with the repackaged One Fusion bundle will be received by the subscribers and how they will affect the overall profitability of NetOne.
