Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is reported to have unleashed a mafia style witch hunt, which saw immediate dismissal and suspension of employees who attended the recent Netone interviews.
This was sparked by our last article which disclosed that employees from Econet and Telecel are eyeing the top Netone posts, forcing Econet Wireless Zimbabwe to respond harshly against the move, dismissing 7 of their employees.
Previously #Mondaybues , you No Hold Barred Tech talk, #MondayBlues column was digging in on Econet’s pathetic Hypocrisy, before we followed up on Potraz boss being pushed out and the internal politicking at Telecel Zimbabwe, before they offered juice cards for salaries.
Although we failed to independently confirm the names, #MondayBlues has it that all the employees who were successful and those who could not make it are now under fire at Econet Wireless Zimbabwe.
Top of the list, we have Tonderai Shonhiwa, Solomon Manda, Cleopas Kadzimu, Chipo Jaison, Lifort Toro and Spencer Manguwa, although we could not independently confirm these names.
When some of the applicants notified Econet that they will be leaving the organisation in next few months as per normal contract termination, Econet immediately relieved them off duties ahead of time, cutting off their lines and barred them from coming to work with immediate effect.
Rumours has it that those who also attended the interviews and could not make it are now under fire, with some (Names supplied) already suspended as they are now treated as traitors who are selling out!
Only one top Telecel executive managed to make it at Netone but we are yet to confirm whether or not he accepted the offer.
Netone is placed to be the next big thing in Zimbabwe Telecoms after the implementation of their $218million 4G network project.
We are yet to get official comment from Econet Wireless Zimbabwe on the move.
