The Harare Institute of Technology will hold the main 10th Anniversary celebrations on Thursday 27 August 2015.
Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Honourable Professor Jonathan Moyo is expected to be the Guest of Honour at the event.Stakeholders from Government, Diplomatic Missions, Industry and Commerce, Alumni and academia are also expected to attend the event.
The celebrations will be held on campus and are a culmination of numerous other activities that were hosted by the Institute in commemoration of its 10th Anniversary since the beginning of the year.
Lead-up activities to mark the celebrations will commence on 25 August and will include
conferences, seminars and poster exhibitions from the Institute’s four schools of Engineering and Technology, Industrial Sciences and Technology, Information Science and Technology and Business and Management Sciences.
The workshops and exhibition will be centred on various thematic areas ranging from the engineering, the industrial sciences, information science and business.
Speakers from industry will be complemented by academics from the Harare Institute of
Technology and presentations will focus on areas such as Emerging Technologies in ICTs, Big Data and Security, Business Competitiveness and Sustainable Design Technologies.
HIT was granted degree awarding status in 2005 with the promulgation of the HIT Act [25:26].
