Powertel Rolls Out More Channels In Satellite Towns.

ZESA owned telecoms wing Powertel have exhibited resilience and innovation as the company introduces more techno-based channels. Powertel Marketing Manager Prosper Mutswiri says his company’s objective is to provide convenience to its customers 24/7 365.

Recently the company entered into a partnership with OK, Borne Marche in rolling out recharges points through electronic means. In addition, the company introduced more electronic channels in partnership with topup.co.zw, international payment platforms and local platforms.

Some of the international platforms include VISA, Zimswitch, PayPal and all mobile money operators. ” We are glad to bring all our local and international customers the convenience to buy Powertel services in the comfort of their homes,” Mutswiri said.

The company recently invested in branded kiosks doted in various strategic positions with the aim to increase its retail arms. Areas established are Chitungwiza, Machipisa, Beitbridge, Chinhoyi and Bindura.

The outlets which are meant to distribute directly Powertel voice and data services, will serve as the most effective and cheapest ways of retail outlets, unlike the usual behavior by telecommunications companies where they open shops, incur rentals, incur other heavy costs, which comes with huge capital.

“We are looking at being where our customers are, hence we had to look at the most effective ways through kiosks while being cost effective to the business” said Prosper Mutswiri.

In his partying shots, the marketing manager said, ” The company celebrates sharing its infrastructure with other operators, something they have enjoyed for the past 15 years.”

The company invested in fibre network backbone through over the ZESA pylons and undersea cable while the consumer wing was addressed through CDMA platform. Powertel was also appointed as the aggregator for prepaid electricity as the ICT wing of ZESA Holdings.
